Where in the World Are My Photos? (An Exploration of Lightroom’s Map Module)

Where in the World Are My Photos? (An Exploration of Lightroom’s Map Module)

There it is. In the Lightroom menu, third from the left. Right where everyone can see it, and right where almost everyone ignores it. The Map Module.

In this presentation, Chris Nicholson will take you on a journey through this largely unexplored byway of the Lightroom interface, exploring the aspects of this undervalued feature and how it can help you organize and find your images.

Learn how to quickly add GPS information to your photos, regardless of whether you recorded it in the field. Better yet, learn how to easily create a track log while shooting, how to import it to Lightroom, how to compensate for time shifts, and how to use that to instantly geotag all your photographs.

Chris will also cover how to navigate the Map module, how to organize photos into customized map locations, and how to automatically inject location info (including city, state, country and location name) into the metadata of your image files. Finally, he'll show how easy it is to locate images in your catalog based on all that geographical information.

Master the Map module, and you'll always know where in the world your photos are.
